Jennifer Hammock, Keynote Speaker
Jennifer Hammock is an award winning servant leader, empowerment coach, author, and sought-after speaker, with a sincere heart to uplift women. In April of 2017 all while being pregnant, she published her first book, Dream Chaser, which has sold over 250 copies. Jennifer is the curator of “The Power of Her Brunch” a women’s empowerment event that draws women from across California each year to uplift and connect like minded women. She prayerfully inspires, encourages, and challenges women to live a life beyond comfort zones, possess active faith, and become the whole person God created them to be. Jennifer also serves as the Women’s Director of New Life Community Church, alongside her husband, founder and lead pastor, Darnell Hammock in Oakland, CA. Most recently, together they launched a lifestyle brand, Legacy Threads Co. to provide inspirational wear for the entire family. In addition to being a supportive wife, Jennifer is a mother of two sweet boys and one destined girl. Her favorite bible verse is Romans 8:28 “All things work together for the good of those who love the Lord and are called according to His promise.” Jennifer is also a proud member of Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority, Inc. When she isn’t inspiring others, she likes to stuff her face with sweet treats, travel and enjoy the outdoors.
Candice Elder, an East Oakland native, is the Founder and Director of The East Oakland Collective (EOC), a member-based community organizing group invested in serving the communities of deep East Oakland by working towards racial and economic equity.
After being a legal professional for nine years, Candice made a career change to work full time in the non-profit sector as the former Membership Manager for the Women’s Funding Network, the largest philanthropy network of women’s funds and foundations in the country. In addition to her work making a better world for women and girls, Candice served on the advisory committee for Breaking the Silence Town Hall on Women and Girls of Color in Oakland.
Laura Wright Teclemariam is a technically inclined Senior Product Manager, powered with hands-on experience in the product and development space. Currently, she works for Electronic Arts, one of the world’s largest Game Publishers.
Prior to EA, Laura led the developer tools efforts for a 100 Million dollar mobile advertising tech startup, Tapjoy. She also has experience in running her own startup for 7 years, which specialized in advertising and marketing. Prior to her marketing experience, Laura worked for numerous Forbes Top 100 Companies, including Deloitte Consulting as an Oracle Consultant and Microsoft Corporation as a Partner Account Manager. At Microsoft, she led the technical and marketing analysis for Microsoft Business partners in the Southern California region.
Robin Winston is the Morning News & Traffic Anchor on the KRON 4 News in San Francisco. She earned her Bachelors Degree in Radio & Television Broadcast Journalism at San Francisco State University and immediately proceeded to work in the fast-paced news business.
Robin started her broadcasting career in 2003 at Total Traffic Networks as a Radio Traffic Reporter. She’s has graced the air waves for 15 years reporting for stations like 102.9 KBLX, KGO 810AM, SIRIUS XM, KFOG, KSAN, KALW and more.
Passionate about her career Robins transition from Radio to Television was a natural fit.
